The Solid State
I do quite a bit of development work for The Solid State, a Surry Hills based film marketing agency whose campaign credits include Redfern Now, A Few Best Men, and The Tall Man, just to name a few.
When they decided it was time for a new website to better showcase their work, they got me in to develop some custom components for them.
This is a nice example of the Wordpress Elastico theme, which looks and works great out of box, no real need to reinvent the wheel there. In that regard, the work I carried out was to augment and extend the site beyond the theme's default capabilities. This included developing a home page intro with a fade out delay, customising the home page portfolio filter, re-developing the portfolio slideshow to allow for multiple videos and implementing a client area complete with a bespoke video player with playlist functionality. Oh, and a neat little Ajax newsletter subscription widget.
Plus of course ensuring the guys could manage all aspects of the site themselves on an ongoing basis.
